Install the PrintServer Windows app

This is the program you sign into. It is not the “show printers” PowerShell file. The installer puts PrintServer Client in the Start menu and on the desktop so Windows Search can find it.

Download installer (.cmd) Download zip Install Python 3 only
{% if server is defined and server.site_url %}

The app will use {{ server.site_url }} as the server URL.

On a customer laptop

  1. Click Download installer (.cmd) and save it (Downloads is fine).
  2. Double-click Install-PrintServer-App.cmd. Do not open the zip and run files from that zip window (the columns “Compressed size” mean you are still inside the zip).
  3. If you already have the zip: right-click it → Extract All, then run the .cmd from the new folder, not from the zip.
  4. Wait until it says Done. A window titled PrintServer Client should appear.
  5. On that window: Username, Password, then Sign in. Office defaults are customer / customer or admin / admin.
  6. If you lost the window, open the Start menu and search for PrintServer Client, or use the desktop icon.
  7. Click Send printers to website, then on this site click Refresh local printers.
  8. The running app stays on the taskbar. Use Quit to stop it before you reinstall. The X only hides it.

Need Python by itself (no app yet)? Use Install Python 3 only, then run Install-PrintServer-App.cmd.

On the print server PC

Double-click Start-PrintServer-App.cmd in the PrintServer folder. That installs the same Start-menu app and opens the login window.

You will know it worked
